BRAND IDENTITY


The Abava Valley is part of the historic Courland region of Latvia. The area has a longstanding history of winemaking that dates back centuries. Nowadays, a new generation of winemakers has taken over and developed this tradition into a new school of winemaking. The Abavas winery bears the name of the small but beautiful Abava River, which is also home to over 50 species of dragonflies. For the winery, the dragonfly symbolizes the harmony between earth, water, and air, and its upward motion inspires growth and development.

Abavas' brand strategy contains a renewed brand experience that is universal and expressive, allowing the winery to operate successfully on both local and international scales, and to adapt to the creation of future products in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic segments.

The new, enriched brand design system includes visual references to the winemaking traditions of the Abava Valley, the region's Nordic natural character, the company's achievements, and its striving for excellence. Art Deco and Art Nouveau stylistics are integrated into the brand identity graphics and imagery, which encourage and give the brand image a timeless value. The Abavas brand's visual innovations and enrichments provide inspiration, add style, and increase brand recognition.
